Quote from The Sporting News.. "The Broncos' offense is a mess and the Titans' defense is a wall, which gives this one the looks of a blowout."

Apparently I misinterpreted that statement. I had picked Denver at home on Monday Night, but after reading that excerpt, changed the pick to Tennessee. Wasn't able to see the game, so I don't know the circumstances of the game, only the final score. This is a lesson that you shouldn't trust the "experts" or pick a team that is favored. It's often better to go with your own opinion.

Other than the Pittsburgh game, there weren't any real upsets. I personally made some picks that I regret- Took the Saints over a Houston team playing at home and coming off a bye. In defense of that pick, I didn't know the status of Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson. I also picked San Diego over the Jaguars in Jacksonville... and I have no excuses for that one. I went 12 of 16 in a week when I coulda, shoulda and woulda gone 15 of 16, but I'm glad to see it was enough to fend off the competition for another week.

Good Luck to everyone this week. (but not TOO good)

You're gettin' sloppy Eric!

As much as I want SD's offense to blow up for 35+ pts a game (I have Gates in my fantasy football league) I couldn't take them over the Jags. Norv Turner is an idiot and that game was played 4 time zones away from SD at what would normally be 9 am PST. Norv Turner should probably get fired before Brad Childress. I think Childress could probably have SD at 7-3.

Schaub and Johnson were/are huge for Houston's offense. My early pick for top WR this year was Johnson, and for the first two weeks he lived up those expectations. Through 3 full games he has 382 yds and 4 TDs... pretty impressive, especially for a offense that clearly has no other weapons besides A.Johnson. NE has 3 great receivers and put together a solid running game. Andre Johnson fights double coverage all day long and has a first time starter at QB. Pretty impressive numbers thus through 3 games.

I think the biggest game this week will be GB at DET. Detroit rarely loses on Thanksgiving... and that would happen when they sucked. They're actually decent this year and playing at home on Thanksgiving against the division leader is a huge game for them. Unfortunately Favre always shines in the national spotlight, so I have to GB on this one. Although I think that's mostly due to how great their D has been playing. I'd love to see Detroit prove me wrong, but I just don't see it happening.

Eric, we must be using some similar picking techniques. Unfortunately, I too went with SD, NO, and TEN, along with two more losers (DET and SF).

Perhaps I'm going to have to get less analytical... just taking the favorites would have been good for 14 points! (Talk about out-smarting oneself).

Somehow, someway, I will catch up!
