College Bowl Pick'Em Winner & NFL Playoffs

Submitted by: Matt O'Laughlin on 08 January 2008

First off, Congratulations to our College Bowl Pick'Em Winner - Doug Finney! Doug picked all the major bowl games correctly and won himself a 19" Sharp LCD TV/DVD combo!

Thanks to everyone who played!

Onto to the NFL Playoffs. I went 3 for 4 on Wild Card Games... not bad. Going forward...

Game 1 - SEA @ GB: I don't necessarily want GB to win, I just think they will. Ryan Grant and Greg Jennings have turned this offense from a possible fluke into a serious threat. I see this game being fairly high scoring, even with the both teams having great D's. I think it will come down to either a Special Teams or Defensive TD that will turn the game one way. Like I said... I like GB to win.

Game 2 - JAC @ NE: NE will win. Pittsburgh made David Garrard throw 2 picks in one game when he threw 3 all regular season. NE will confuse him and force him to make mistakes. No one can stop Brady and Moss.

Game 3 - SD @ IND: SD won this game at home during the regular season. If LT can turn it on and have a big game, they could have a chance. I think with the rest that Indy is getting they'll be way too tough to beat though. Indy wins and gives us all the gift of a rematch with NE.

Game 4 - NYG @ DAL: Dallas needed the rest. T.O. should be playing. Dallas won both regular season matchups. Too much Dallas, not enough Giants.

It's going to be a great weekend of football!

I have a question about the scoring from the bowl pick em. It looks like most people's scoring is completely messed up. For instance, the winner Doug, his bracket has a check mark beside Central Michigan, even though they lost that game. Same with Michigan State, UCF, Air Force, South Florida, and others....Also, it looks like he did NOT get credit for a few games, such as TCU, Alabama, Fresno St, and others....I checked my entry and the check mark or X seem to jive with my picks. In other words, every time I have an X, it is on the side of the team that I picked that lost. And every time I have a check mark, it is on the side of the team that I picked that won. But looking at other people's entries, that is not so. Obviously maybe I am misunderstanding how the scoring works...Any help???

Ethan, I noticed that the checkmarks were sometimes weird on my individual entry, and confirmed what you said about Doug's entry.

However, if you click on the 'scorecard' link, there is a list of each game and who everyone picked for each game. That has the accurate picks since I think their red and green check mark/'x' coding wasn't written very well.

Did that help?
