can a component cable cause a projector to cut out?

i have had the optoma hd70 projector for a while and had it paired with my old sony 910 amp and ps3,tosh e-1 and sky hd. I since upgraded my amp to the harmon kardon 255 which sounds great, but has hdmiproblems when i feed any signal using hdmi to my projector in that it outputs...

hi folks i have just sold my optoma hd 70 in a view to upgrade to 1080p does anyone have suggestions on a suitable dlp replacement for sub £1600? or has anyone else gone the same route from 720 to 1080 ? be interested to hear your thoughts:smashin:

I'm looking for a processor scaler that will also mainly act as a switch for my HD sources. My current setup is that i have a Optoma HD80 and a Panny 42px70. I am feeding these from PS3, BT Vision which will be replaced as soon as there is a product on teh market a freesat PVR....
